Hong Qi have been making upmarket motors for fat cats and communist bosses for years, since the opening of Chinas economy to other brands they’ve lost some way against the likes of Audi, BMW etc in the luxury class, but the below rendering looks like they are fighting back.
The HongQi SUV is in the same class as the Audi Q7, and the BMW X5.
Update: Obviously the above renderings are Chinese fan art and nothing more.

photoshop.
Yeah, it’s based on the Lincoln MKT concept that was just shown at NAIAS.
The chinese are getting faster at copying!
Even the background of the pictures is from the pictures of the Lincoln MKT. I cannot help to think that this is a truly photoshop work.
Are you kidding me? Is the Chinese mantra, “Steal others renderings and release as your own?”
Not only should they get sued for being stupid, they should get sued for blatant plagiarism.
No tikkie no laundry
More like Chinese fan art.
Lincoln MKT anyone? Seriously. This is a photoshop of the Lincoln MKT concept car.
You have known it is Chinese fan art,so why you said “Bad Ass Hong Qi”?!
I think you are the real Bad Ass!!!
People are allowed to get excited over a design, even if it is a photoshop. You also have to bear in mind he’s from the U.K. and lives in China. I’m sure he follows Autocar or Autoexpress more than Autoblog or Jalopnik (even though I know he reads both). Maybe I sound like a jerk but if you can do a better job trying to locate any sort of info on Chinese cars, then by all means, put up a site, and I’ll be more than happy to read it.
At the time, when the pictures were on auto.sohu there was no indication they were photoshops! If auto.sohu get caught out, then what chance do I have
I hardly ever look at the American car market, it seems to be bland sedan after oversized SUV these days!
Not the first, and not the last time this will happen.
P.S. I read Autoblog, not a big fan of Jalopnik.
Yeah, I usually restrain my opinions on Chinese cars until the actual vehicle comes out. Most pics I see are nothing more than photoshops anyways. I won’t lie, I’d really love to get the rebadged Holden Commodore sold in the U.S. as the Pontiac G8 but that’s an entirely different conversation.
