China Car Times spotted the above Chevrolet Aveo in traffic today, the three bumper stickers across the back are what caught our attention. The recent outrage by a large number of Chinese against the likes of Carrefour and other certain French brands has been expressed in various different manners - street protests, internet protests, and now the humble political bumper sticker has been imported from the West!
Quite a selection! From the left, we have the CNN with a big red line through it, the middle is an Olympic torch logo (sans red line!) and the right is the Carrefour logo with a big red line through it! China Car Times is still holding out for some Truck Nutz though, but in the meantime, we want to ask ‘What would you put on the back of your car in China?‘ The usual ‘No Kiss!‘ or ‘Baby on Board‘ signs in English don’t count.

My two favourite bumper stickers of all time:
“I brake for Penguins - only!” (Pittsburgh Penguins, that is!)
and
“If you can read this, I can hit my brakes and sue you”
And actually, our car here in China has a sticker from our home town, Cologne in Germany.
Cheers from Chongqing
Michael
The xenophobic Jack Cafferty at CNN, really hit a sensitive nerve with his recent comments about the Chinese. He really should get out of New York more and around.
Nice Anti CNN sticker on your American branded Korean car…
Too bad it didn’t have Fox News crossed out. Instead of a sticker, how bout bull balls to hang off the back of the car? I’d just put a black Osborne bull sticker on the back. Only certain people know what it means and it’s not a cliché to adhere to the rear of your vehicle.
Rear Halogen 10,000 Watt Retina piercing, eye bleeding, sun tanning, battery draining, Lighthouse finding distress Beams, to blind the idiots who drive with their Full Beam and Fog Lights on! (Sorry you hit a nerve!!!)
Somebody had a nasty day. Hopefully, you’re not in the states, this is a common occurence in the south (pickups with liftkits and highbeams=blinded person in passenger car).
Im still considering installing a set of SUV roof lights to the roof of my car, except mine would be facing backwards!
I’m not the only one then.
A more professional answer to Paul’s comment are special coated mirrors which avoids automatically blinding in most cases.
Advice you to contact German producer FLABEG in Shanghai which can deliver this low-glar glasses (without flipping the inside mirror). Check out: www.flabeg.com
Cheers, Mike
But these only help against the high beams from behind. Worse is the oncoming traffic. Especially when those high beamers are followed but the not-so-uncommon I-don’t-need-lights-at-all drivers.
Cheers, Michael
Saw another one today, this time down the side of a Chevrolet Aveo - same color too!
‘Tibet, Taiwan, Xinjiang ARE and will ALWAYS be a part of China!’
It was in English as well! Wish I would have stopped for a photo.
Fully debadged I have one bumper sticker “made in china” on my car in Shenzhen
On an Opel hatch there was a sign on back shield that said “United States Air Force” then amongst the other stickers on the back was another that said “Semper Fi”….. The funniest thing was it had nice white Guangzhou army plates…. identity crisis maybe…..
