1.8 engine is the 4G93 model
2.0 engine is the 4G63S4M model

Both are coming from a supplier called Shenyang Huachen Jinbei Automobile Company.

Seems Dragin is right, Zhonghua do have a slice of the Mitsubishi making pie!

You might well be right. It’s not the first time an employee would know nothing about his company’s products. Trying to get any sense out of a gaggle of 6 employees was difficult.

At least one Brilliance employee told me that the 1.8 was a Harbin engine.

If this were around when wagons were cool, this one would have blown away all the competition.
I really like it and think that with gas prices on the rise it may be just the ticket for getting the kids back and forth to soccer.

I don’t think so Mark, although Mitsubishi may be building some engines in Harbin for Hafei. Shenyang Aerospace Mitsubishi Engine Manufacturing Co. is located in Shenyang. I once heard that Brilliance owned upward of 31% of this operation.

Genuine? They look like the kind of pictures that Pinafirina roll out when showing off designs.

I agree with you, the Shenyang Mitsubishi engines are not that good once post 1.3l.

So do you think these pictures are genuine? The scenery is obviously photoshopped but what about the rest of it? If not it is a massive improvement over the existing BS4 and looks really good.

Brilliance did tell me they were thinking of doing darker leather for the European market. Looks good.

Hope they don’t put the two engines in the car that you mention Ash. The 1.8 is a turkey and the 2.0 not much better. This car needs the 1.8T and the turbo diesel.
