One China Car Times reader asks:

We get asked lots of questions, we really do. We wish we had time to answer all of them, but to be honest we dont (:() but what we could do, is ask our readers if they know the answers to the questions we get!

Our first question comes from Chris in Shanghai:

Hi good day

Do you know of any skid pan and or car track in China (Shanghai area preferably) where I can practice advanced driving techniques please?

Kind Regards

Chris

So does anyone in the Shanghai area know of a skidpan, or a track area where you can just turn up and start slidin’ away?

Ash

Ash came to China at 18 on a whim and never left. Some 10 years later he collected a degree and a family along the way and now focuses his time on watching the Chinese car industry develop. He has witnessed the market change from being minor backyard market in to the world's biggest and most important market for all car manufacturers. Get yourself down to your nearest MG dealer, sign up for the “MG Driving Experience”, not only do you get to give an MG7 a good spin under with tuition but you may even win one!

    Elevated highway……especially at night/early morning.

Practically deserted :-) . The intersection of the N/S and the inner ring is particularly fun after a rain storm….hehehe.

Helps to have out of Shanghai plates.

Don’t know about skid pans bet I think you can rent the track at Tianama……or even take a course at the F1 track.

Then there is the deserted runway at Longhua…….seen car tests done out there.

I would recommend getting a job as a taxi driver. Make sure it only has racing slicks though and none of those fancy tires with tread :)
