But meiguo 美国 (or miguk), is word for word not translated beauty country. It's translated beautiful country.
And about that name you insist on using....
Consider what they say: you can catch more bees with honey than vinegar.....

> why didn’t they just go with “BeautiFUL Leopard” (which would still be wishful thinking)?

"Beauty Leopard" is a word for word translation of original Chinese name. Concept of "Beauty" exists in Chinese, but not "Beautiful".

Brian I guess what it comes down to is quality.
We could say that the quality of the English name reflected the quality of the car. Sure we all wondered about whether it was "a beauty", or was it
"a leopard"....knowing that it couldn't be both.
But hopefully that's all behind Geely now, and so we look forward to some better all around quality, both in marketing and in manufacture.
Maybe this will be the finale for the old red coupe.

I've gotta agree. This monstrosity is a reminder of when Geely was still figuring out the whole automotive design thing. And, "Beauty Leopard" sound so stilted -- why didn't they just go with "BeautiFUL Leopard" (which would still be wishful thinking)?
