Geely and London Taxi maker, Manganese Bronze, struck a deal early last year to produce the iconic London taxi cab in China for Asian markets. The cab is nearing production, but British built cabs have been assigned the task of aiding disabled or invalid Olympians and visitors around Beijing.

30 of the cabs are in operation in Beijing as of Monday this week. Beijing based CCT readers will hopefully see them first.

I rode in one of these today. It was brilliant. So much space, it makes Beijing look completely different. Now I will never need to go back to London again ;).

Yeah, I see those periodically in Beijing. What’s the deal? And yet, I totally want to get one when I go back to the US.
