China Car Times had a chance to get up close with the MG7 Sports version at the Qingdao Car Show, and what can we say more than ‘we love it!’
Gone is the faux wood dashboard, and replaced with the shiny gray plastic that shows MG’s sporting heritage. The seats are much more comfortable, and dare we say, better made! The dash is far better than the regular MG7’s, both in terms of looks and quality. The car appears to have been lowered, bigger wheels have been added, both of which combine to make a car with quite an impressive road stance. The only complaint we had, is that the roofline is pretty low, causing us to bang our heads getting in and out!
This is clearly the car that MG should have launched from the start - why bother with the whole MG brand if you’re not going to make a true sports sedan? The wood interior put us off buying one, but the MG7 Sports is perfection. Oh, and the price? 210,000rmb for the 1.8T. We wonder if the 2.5 V6 will also see its way into this model?

AT LAST! Nanjing have finally made the MG ZT, rather than a MG badged 75.
This is what MG is, leave the 75 spec to Roewe.
