Fiat Linea and Bravo to be launched in China, not pricey, either!

Since the death of the Nanjing Fiat joint venture and the subsequent ending of production of the Fiat China models, Fiat hasnt had any new cars to sell. This all appears to be changing as Fiat are planning to import two models into China, namely the Linea and Bravo, which will fill the gap until Fiat gets Chinese production of its models up and running.

Despite being imports, the Fiats seem quite well priced, although sales of the two may well be affected by their import and high price status. We are sure they will find a niche for themselves over the coming months. The model line will be broken down as follows:

  • Linea - Standard - 170,100RMB
  • Linea - Luxury - 210,000RMB
  • Bravo - Standard - 200,380RMB
  • Bravo - Sports - 210,900RMB

Both cars are T-Jet turbo assisted 1.4l models. The higher models are packed with technological goodness, such as GPS, Navigation and the usual MP3 playing abilities. There has been a trend in recent years for young people across the world, including Chinese, to be willing to pay a premium for small expensive technological goods. We have seen the rise of the MINI in China, which packs good looks and technology, perhaps these two cars will be good competition for the MINI?

The Bravo looks like a nice hatch. I wonder if the “Sports” model includes the 150PS engine available in Europe, or if all models will come with the regular (120PS) version of the 1.4L T-Jet. I hope it’s the former, though I’ll admit that the latter is more than sufficient for the type of driving over here. My main concern is, where would we get it serviced?

Hmm, I feel ya, but it has been said they’ve turned around. They’re partnered with Suzuki and for example, pity they don’t bring that over, the Sedici is just the Suzuki SX4 in AWD, which I am having the hardest time with Suzuki dealers over the SX4 AWD model and why it’s not sold here. (if it’s not AWD I don’t want it.) :D

Maybe they’re getting some Japanese tech in their stuff. Anyway, I wouldn’t buy a Fiat other than the Sedici which is Suzuki. ;)

I might have to ask :) since Suzuki China refuses to be accomodating on this whole AWD Sx4 Thing. Since They’re importing everything at the moment what’s one more thing?

Accept Suzuki’s prices are a lot better than fiats… :p
