The i30 is expected to go into production in Beijing in the second half of 2008, and may well go some way in turning around Hyundai’s rather dismal sales performance in 2007 and 2008. This car may just well be the injection of style and performance that Hyundai needs the most in China, although, the new Elantra is doing quite a good job of revitalizing Beijing Hyundai by itself, the i30 is only going to strengthen their position.

Nice car-lets hope they bring the diesel version here-but that would be too sensible!

Thanks woxihuanpijiu, but if something deserves ‘nice’ then no problem with me-if it doesnt then its probably ‘crap’. I dont suffer fools or mediocrity from the auto industry, nor do I suffer from the mental masturbationary syndrome that some readers of CCT seem to have when it comes to the Chinese car industry – try hards are not good enough in this industry.

I fully understand your point of view. I’m sure that when a locally designed vehicle meets your standards that you will praise so accordingly. Is there anything from the locals being released that it starting to warrant your attention more?
