Chery making breadvan

Chery appear to be busy making ‘bread vans‘ or mini MPV’s. These little MPV’s are the bread and butter automobile of several Chinese auto companies, namely Chang’an. The little 7 seaters, or sometimes 9/10/11 seaters are a backbone of the Chinese economy, they are often used to ferry workers around, carry goods, or just simply annoy other drivers into driving at walking speeds.

The most interesting thing about this Chery breadvan, is the guy sitting inside smoking – just who is he? and secondly, why does this van look a lot like the Suzuki Landy? It could just be that the Suzuki Landy is being used as a test mule for Chery benchmarking, or it could just be a car that was highly inspired!

It does look a lot like a Landy, although some cosmetic parts a slightly different. Im guessing they saw that their ugly little MPV (ugly but spacious) wasn’t selling so well so they went to the copy shop and slapped one of these together. If it a 4wd with a better interior and removable rear seats and decent safety for under 50,000 I’ll get one for my bikes.
