VW’s China line up is truly confusing, with various different models aimed at the same segment. The new VW Bora will go up against the recently launched SAIC VW Lavida, as well as the Sagitar, and the larger VW Magotan. Confused? We are, so imagine what it feels like for the average Chinese customer.

the VW China line up is (from high to low):
    Magotan: pq46,
    Sagitar: pq35,
    octiva: pq35
Lavida/New Bora: pq34 modified, lavida for only China, NB for China and other developing mkt
    Bora/Golf:pq34
    Satana:??
    Jetta:A2
    Polo:pq24?
    Fabia :pq25
    Gol:??

why people always confusing the line-up for VW in China is because it have 2 partners which have to be diffreciate and sales company alway try the new name they thought it will stimulate the sales!

Good God! I keep thinking how the hell does VW and its partners stay in business but then I remember China has a massive population. For all intents and purposes they’re cannibalizing sales but the JV’s are successful, so go figure!
