A Hybrid we could roll in - Buick Lacrosse Hybrid 2.4l and only 270,000rmb

The Buick Lacrosse hybrid is shaping up to be a hybrid that China Car times could actually drive, and be proud to drive! The 2.4l motor is mated to a hybrid system and is reportedly going to cost 260,990rmb when launched!

Media reports indicate the Buick Lacrosse Hybrid will use an impressive 4l per 100km of travelling, which is on par with the smallest of Chinese kei cars.

More information on this model as and when we get it.  Although we believe it may actually be a replacemennt for the long rumoured Chevrolet Malibu hybrid that was supposed to be launched in China but never actually was.

Where did the 4 litre fuel consumption come from? The official GM press release quotes 8.3 compared to 9.8 for the non hybrid.

I drove this car today. It’s a very nice car but not quite a hybrid in the sense of a Prius. The petrol engine only really doesn’t work when the car is idle.
