Chevrolet to starting selling Corvette in the PRC?

This was spotted outside of the Chinese National Department for Automobile Quilty (the people that award sales licenses to car manufacturers). Generally speaking, if a car is spotted outside this building, then chances are it plans to go on sale in China.

Is GM trying to raise Chevrolet from being a bargain bin GM-Daewoo rebranding excercise into a premium brand? We hope so!

That would be so cool! Too bad that I’ll never be able to afford one here…

If Chevrolet is recognised as a cheap car manufacturer, maybe they’re going to market Corvette as a brand more than a model from Chevrolet. Same thing happened in Spain, if i’m right, over there the Corvette is sold simply as a Corvette, not as a Chevrolet.

Anyway, cool news…

Lets hope Ford bring over the Mustang as well. China needs some decent V8 powered vehicles…..

Corvette is not known yet here, however, believe they will market it as a brand. Chevrolet is more recognised in China as a brand in roof of GM, and thanks to good marketing, the image of Chevrolet is not as cheap as it is.

yep — in europe the corvette is a different brand than chevy. Given the crap that çhevy is selling in china I give them five years before the japs wipe them off the face of the earth.

GM is amazing. Corvette is a halo car for Chevy, yet the sell them separately in Europe. Maybe it is a halo brand for GM, but GM isn’t a brand – it is a company.
