The current Ford Focus has sold exceptionally well for Chang’an Ford in the PRC, and with the new model shown below they may just carry on with their sales trend, Ford did sell over 120,000 Focus models in 2007 alone, the Focus accounted for 58% of total Ford sales in 2007 according to Chinese media reports.
The Chinese Ford Focus comes in saloon and hatchback varients, both of which seem equally popular with young proffesionals and small families. Power for the Focus is derived from 1.8 or 2.0l engines, both of which are mated to a choice of automatic or manual gearboxes. This new Focus, when launched in September, will find itself up against a whole lot of competition in the form of new models from other manufacturers, namely the new Bora, the VW Lavida, and the Buick Excelle.
The new Focus is expected to hit the market on September 25th, pricing is expected to remain similar to the current models.

Facelift ? the car look the same as the Focus since the Focus replace the escort a decade ago . I do like the grill on the north American focus . Why dose ford not put the grill on Focuses elsewhere . Although i love hatchbacks and hate that Ford killed the hatchback focus for no reason . Blaming it on poor sales when it hade very good sales in north America . I live in Europe anyway oh well .
I hated the grill on the us focus .
The US Focus isn’t the same as the one sold elsewhere in the world. They may look similar, but the international version is better (including the one made and sold in China).
The 2009 Chinese Market Ford Focus gets a Kinetc Design facelift first seen late last year in the European Focus.
The main difference is the European Focus gets new side panels/door skins with has a crease that runs through the door handles.
Jack, the American Focus is a reskin of the first generation Focus which was introduced in the late 90’s (C170 platform).
Ford’s new design language is called “Kinetic Design”, this originated from Europe and is now being introduced in Ford’s global models.
The new Fiesta should be one of the first Kinetic Design Ford models to be sold in the USA.
The Chinese Focus, like most Focuses sold in markets outisde North America is based on the European Mk2 Focus (C1 platform).
