Yes i have seen these adds . I want that car as long as SIAC don’t sell it in europe as Ssangyong . or sell the terrblie Ssangyong models under the Roewe Brand . Ssanyong is a half dead brand in Europe that has no hope of seeing it’s money back . SIAC should do the wisest thing and . pull out of Europe ! Yes the Roewe 550 and 750 have a big future in Europe but the Ssanyongs ugly MPV has no future what so ever .
Hi Jack
You’ll be pleased to learn that there is a plan to build (assemble) several models of Roewe in Birmingham. Including the 550, a new super mini and a not yet seen sports car, which has very similar lines to the current Porsche Boxter. These models were under development at Ricardo (Leamington Spa), prior to the collapse of Rover group. So what you will see emerging from the Phoenix ashes will have been designed, developed and built in the midlands. 2010 will be an exciting year for the new company. Watch this space!!!!
The Chinese at SAIC are trying to run the show in the West…until they recognize that they truly do not understand what works in the West, and hire Westerners and LET THEM RUN THE SALE AND MARKETNG FOR TEN YEARS OR SO LIKE THE JAPANESE DID they’ll never get it right !!!!

the best strategy would be to make the 550 look a bit more sporty and launch it across europe as an MG
MG is a great brand, one recognised, valued, appreciated and worth investing in
why don’t they sell it as as Morris in Europe ?

The adverts are in English, so they really intend to release it in Europe ?
