The Chinese automotive press are hoping that the updated Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) 2009 Honda Civic sedan will see Chinese production in the PRC. The Honda Civic sedan has seen good sales in China, and has become a popular alternative to the Ford Focus sedan.
In addition, previous media reports hinted that the Honda Civic hatchback will see an introduction into China either later this year, or early 2009. The hatchback Civic will give Honda a compact car to go up against the well selling Nissan Tiida, Focus hatch, and the VW hatch offerings.
