BYD F8 – to be launched at end of year, in winter.

Auto.Sohu website are today reporting that the BYD F8 will go into production towards the end of the year, with BYD effectively launching a convertible in winter, although in BYD’s hometown of Shenzhen, there isnt really much of a winter to talk about.

Meanwhile, more pictures of the automotive mash up, the F8 came to light:

BYD are planning to use their first self developed engine in the F8, breaking away from their original reliance on the Mitsubishi range that is often used in Chinese made cars.  Although the F8 may well be a mixture of existing automotive designs, with heavy influences coming from Mercedes, as well as Renault around the rear end, BYD do deserve praise for being the first Chinese company to invest in a convertible.
