Dongfeng and Nissan are working on a C segment platform that is to be finished by 2010, with Nissan’s R&D departments in the UK and Japan both aiding the operation, this will be the first time that Dongfeng Nissan’s own R&D center has taken the lead in designing a platform, according to media reports.
The information regarding the platform was revealed by Dongfeng Nissan boss Mr. Ren Yong, he later revealed that the platform will be finished by 2010, and the IPR will belong to Dongfeng Nissan
This is for Dongfeng use only, since Nissan uses its corporate parent Renault’s B and C segment platforms to save money(Nissan has the highest gross margin in the auto industry other than Porsche). In return Renault gets access to Nissan’s D & E segment platforms.
