Roewe 550 Sports. They were serious

China Car Times has an on going love affair with the Roewe 550, a Chinese car to beat them all, or at least have a jolly good try, but the latest ‘sports version’ is a true sight for sore eyes. We thought the spy pictures we posted a few weeks ago were a Roewe 550 owners own personal additions, but it seems that Roewe may actually intend on launching the 550 ‘Sports’

Have Roewe designers been watching Tokyo Drift recently?

The attachment parts look cheap (sth. like you can buy in every ordinary car shop) and inappropriate. It destroys the classical smooth shape of an actuall quite decent car.

I see they learnt from the MG SV school of styling, rather than the subtler MG ZT.

It’ll be interesting to see if it’s got the muscle and handling to back up the bodykit.

The normal Roewe 550 looked great, but this one looks like someone modified it at home……. sad to see. I hope the MG version of the Roewe 550 won’t look that way, finger’s crossed a UK designer will have a say in the Roewe to MG transformation….
