Roewe 550 hatchback Mock Ups

Various websites have been pushing around pictures of a future Roewe 550 hatchback, but badged up as an MG model. China Car Times, rather than publish the images straight away, we actually did a bit of research! By contacting various insiders, and those more likely in the know, we have concluded that the MG hatch pictures are not the ones that our MG insider knows of, but they did say there was a similar vehicle in planning stage.

The pictures first came to light in the Chinese auto magazine, Qi Che Bo Lan (Auto Expo), although CCT hasn’t yet been able to locate a copy of the magazine containing the pictures. Poor quality photos were taken of the magazine and uploaded to the net as soon as the magazine came out of the publishing house, and quickly spread across the internet, and into magazines in Europe, sadly the Chinese sources were never given any credit.

Until now, we’ve seen the below Roewe 550 Hatchback pictures:

Not forgetting these previous Roewe 550 hatch back mock ups:

Today AutoExpress, the British Automotive magazine is currently sporting pictures of the new MG ZS, aka the MG6. The MG badge looks like it was hastily added later to the picture, as its obviously off center:

We’re not sure where Auto Express acquired the images from, Auto Express is rather infamous for creating pictures and calling them ‘exclusives’

We’ve also come across this drawing of a future MG based Roewe 550 sedan:
