A TAXI passenger attacked his driver on Thursday and then stole the cab after becoming enraged when their route was blocked, police said yesterday.
The vehicle was taken just before 3:30pm in Xuhui District. The driver, surnamed Qin, drove the cab into a lane at 264 Wanping Road S.
His passenger, surnamed Wang, became enraged when a lorry blocked the cab’s way. The lorry was unloading its cargo at a food market.
Wang abused the lorry drivers, police said. Security guards from the market intervened and Wang then broke off the taxi’s rear-view mirror and hit himself over the head with it. He then used it to smash the taxi’s meter, police said.
Wang then snatched the car key from Qin and injured Qin’s arm. Qin got out of the cab to get help and Wang drove off.
“I saw a cab rushing by,” said a witness surnamed Shao. “Lots of kids and parents were scared and had to get out of its way.”
Seven vehicles parked along the lane were scratched by the speeding cab. The vehicle was later found abandoned with minor damage. Police took Wang into detention on Thursday evening. The case is under investigation.
Have never gone apeshit like this goon but in the past I used to ask cabbies if I could drive their car back to my place (or the next bar) and about 1 in 3 would let me…

We have the known that Taxi drivers are not the most experienced drivers we have in the Society as well they are not Address’s Lexico that know everything about the cities they use to drive trough.
