Chery’s new SUV – Oh dear!
The Chery Tiggo3 SUV is a sales success for Chery, every month they are always in the SUV top ten sales for the past 4 years! Not many other car companies can launch a SUV, and then keep it on the market without many changes for 4 years. Obviously other factors come into play, such as the Tiggo3′s price (cheap), styling (not bland, not excessive), and performance (reasonable) but the latest Chery SUV, destined to be the Tiggo5 is quite a departure from the Tiggo3′s styling.
Despite the’interesting’ exterior styleing, the interior, or rather under the hood design is of more interest to China Car Times. According to our sources, the Tiggo5 will come with teh options of 3.0 V6 VVT engines, as well as 2.0 Turbo engines on offer. The 3.0l V6 will will force out and impressive 144kw and 290nm of torque. A 2.0TCI offering is also under development.
As the naming series suggests, Chery are also planning to launch other numerically named SUV’s in the Tiggo range, including a BMW X5 ‘fighter’, and also a VW Touareg ‘fighter’ as you can imagine, we cant wait to see those.

I wouldn’t want to shock my neighbours with a car looking like this. Interesting, yes. Awkward styling? yes, YES!
Want it? Well, there is a market for everything…..
Cherys looked better when they were nothing more than Daewoo copies.
Now that Chery got into its own self-styling, they are getting worse and worse…
It’s a damm sight better looking than the Roewe SUV posted a few says ago
Looks crude. They have a long long way to go. They need to learn the basics first. This one is not remotely competitive even with a big price advantage. The designer still need to learn how to make 3-D surface.
What kind of carp is this? Do they have any taste? Whoever designed this junk should put a bullet into his head.
Its just another 1st gen Hyundai Santa Fe clone..
Looks like a Suzuki Swift on steroids with a Toyota Crown’s headlights
