Geely to produce SUV in ’09

2009 is shaping up to be an interesting year for Geely, their range of cars is looking most interesting, their FC-2 sedan is on the verge of being launched, and their new SUV is also about to be put into production. Media reports early this morning indicate that Geely plan to launch their SUV (pictured left) within the year. Overall the Geely NL SUV will be on par with the Honda CRV size wise, making it bigger than Chery’s Tiggo3. Engine wise, the Geely NL SUV will come with a range of Mitsubishi engines, 2.0l, 2.4l gasoline engines and 2.0, 2.2l diesel engines, all of which meet Euro 5 emissions specifications. Geely does plan to bring its branding up a notch in the automotive market, and with Geely meeting Euro 5 emissions standards we could see Geely’s rolling further into Europe as time goes on.

The Geely NL will come in 4WD/2WD form, and wil come with the option of 5 seats, or 7 seats. Prices for the Geely NL SUV have yet to be announced.
