MG6 – end of year launch!
The forthcoming MG6 is essentially the first MG to be launched since the MG Z range of cars in 2003, its been a long wait for MG fans the world over, but it appears that MG’s new Chinese masters in Shanghai appeaeer closer to giving the world what it wants.
The MG6 is planned to be the hatchback sister of the Roewe 550 sedan. The Roewe 550 is based on a shortened Rover 75 platform, and uses the Rover K-Series 1.8T engine, which SAIC has updated for 2009 emissions standards.
According to various media reports, the MG6 will see a Shanghai Auto Show launch in April this year, for MG nuts the world over, thats a mere 3 months from now. The MG6 is also planned to be one of the first MG cars to see European production, aside from the MGTF, and will be priced from 120,000rmb to 170,000rmb once launched in China. The UK price range may also be in the 12,000GBP price area.
Pictures of a rumored MG6 made it into a Chinese automotive magazine a few weeks ago, however, CCT’s insiders say that plans for the MG6 are different from the ones seen on the net so far.
The MG6 will feed new hope into a dedicated group of fans who have been expecting ‘good things’ for quite some time, but until now, various MG owners have failed to deliver.

FROM ITALY .
