Geely are busy working away on new energy cars according to todays media reports from various outlets. Geely doesnt appear ready to put all of its eggs in one basket, and join forces with either side of opposing new energy camps, and by those new energy camps we mean the hydrogen camp V’s the hybrid camp.
Geely want to split their eggs between many baskets and plan on working on LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas) and CNG (compressed natural gas), stop and start systems, and also plug in hybrids, and pure electric vehicles. Reports also state that Geely are working on turbo models in an effort to bring more boost to small engines, engines such as 1.3T and 1.8T will be soon entering the Geely line up. In addition, Geely is also working on double clutch systems, VVT engine systems and direct injection diesel and petrol engines. Geely plans to bring all of its engine models upto Euro 5 emissions standards, which could mean a deeper push into central, and Western Europe is on the cards.
