Hello Dongfeng Fengshan – How are you?

We’ve been patiently waiting for the next model in the Dongfeng line up for the past few months, ever since the launch of the popular Dongfeng Joyear MPV, we’ve been waiting for their next offerings. Pictures of the Dongfeng Fengshan made it to the internet today, and we have to say its quite a lot better looking than the suggested prototypes that we’re being posted to the net!

Whilst many people may remember the disaster that was the Dongfeng Little Prince, the new Dongfeng sedan plans to be a whole new player. It measures the same size as the Peugeot 307, it will be powered by a 1.6 16v engine from the PSA warehouse.. The car is actually built off the Citroen ZX platform, and measures (LxWxH)4502/1740/1465mm.

More information on the car is not available, but we will keep CCT readers upto date with it. We do expect it to be launched at the Shanghai Car Show in April this year.

If this looks better than the prototypes I would hate to see what they looked like. With style like this Geely would be proud. Some Chinese manufacturers are pushing out some reasonably good looking stuff, if this is the best Dongfeng can do they might as well give up now.

No aethestics, outdated chassis that they didn’t even develop, I agree.. Dongfeng should just give up. Especially considering that other monstrosity of a coupe they just made. And if you view it in the context of how much progress other Chinese makers such as SAIC/Roewe, Chery and Geely have made in the past year, this is laughable.

I don’t think it looks too bad – at least I don’t find it too offensive. Although the front reminds me of Besturn.
