Great Wall Coolbear, totally cool.
Great Wall may have come under a lot of attacks lately for its amazing ability to clone cars, but lets face it – the Coolbear is sporting the design the Scion Xb should have been.

The Greatwall Motors Coolbear will come with a 1.5l Euro 5 engine mated to a manual gearbox, although they might launch an automatic version sometime in the future.
CCT has had a minor love affair with the Coolbear, ever since it was launched as a concept car in Beijing way back in 2006. Hopefully we’ll be able to test drive one soon. Prices for the Coolbear have yet to be announced, certain websites say around 95,000RMB.
If we were in the market for a compact MPV, we’d give the Coolbear a serious look over, the interior looks reasonable (although for 95,000rmb we’d expect leather) but the lack of an automatic gearbox is a real blow. The Coolbear is sure to be a hit with the Coolbears and fashionistas in China, and abroad.

stinks in a literal way, or another way? Whats so bad about it? How much does it retail for in Egypt?
Stinks Literally ! There’s a strange smell comes out of its cheap plastic interior.
from the outside its not that bad unless you try to push any panel .. it feels like your hand are going to leave a mark.
from inside plastics all over . but its not that bad for the price-range ( its competeing against the likes of the Chery A1 – Kia Picanto – Hyundai i10 – Chevy Spark )
but what really annoys me the most .. is that the Panda-ripped of design inside .. doesn’t reall FIT the car .. and you feel really CRAMPED up inside ( too narrow ) .
on the road it feels like any cheap supermini outthere but its early to judge on reliability.
it retail for 52.000 LE about $9350 US ( After 55% taxes/customs etc ) .
personally if I had to pick I’d get the Chery A1 .. its the best Chinese supermini here and it retails for the same price exactly .
55% import tax is amazing. Is the Egyptian government trying to stifle the car industry?
This is a direct ripoff of someone else’s product. Honestly, I don’t get why you like it so much. It does nothing but offer ammunition for Chinese car haters.

I agree with Joe. Plenty of cars from China worthy of admiration (how about that Chery ev that just got announced? or BYD F3DM?). Praising this is just asking for trouble.
To me it looks like another version of Nissan Cube. Cube is cooler though.
Quite frankly it seems to suit the average straight-from-the-farm jabba-the-box-cut asshole jutting into lanes without signal I see every morning and evening, so much so that if you enlarged one of their boxed head/haircuts, it would almost exactly fit the shape of the car.
I like it, Im not supporting their cloning, but its certainly one of the more interestingly designed cars on the roads.

I think you should invest ( if you need to ) in Brilliance, I love their designs , love their cars ( not from the inside tho ) .
and If I am lucky enough I think I might get me a FRV, its selling like hot cakes here .
I owned two cars, bought FRV last year, bought cool bear 1 month ago. to me, cool bear is much better in quality than Brilliance’s FRV/FSV/Cross.nOW my wife is driving FRV for I usually drive more complicated rode situation so I need more better car, so i choose cool bear.
To westerners, we chinese copied Scion’s design, but it is not important, we promote much from copying. No copy, no so best cool bear car. Did u use Meizu M8 ( best cellphone than IPHONE), if u had purchased M8, u should throw iphone into garbage. BTW, I have M8 too. so u can see, not all chinese do just copy, they improve tech as well.
comsueers need best products, they do not care about what model they r copying from. You westerners should know that at the end. Or else you will be eliminated from the earth.
Have to love the strong willed Chinese like Hexw. He would defend anything Chinese to death. Everyone is saying they could have made the same car without it being a direct copy. They could have taken the car and copied and then completely changed it to look like something original. That isn’t hard to do. Companies from all over the world do it. So far these companies are just too lazy and disrespectful or others property rights. Same with that phone you were talking about. Most Chinese people don’t care because they don’t have the experience from any other country that would be facing lawsuits anywhere else in the world.
Holy crap everyone It is a SCION xB they bought all the leftovers that didn’t sell in America and Japan and added a different front and different tail lights OMG!!! Toyota made MILLIONS of THIS car before it ever hit market in china

what is a problem with peri? i drive the same car and car is very good, even when is compared to other competitors, engine goes very well, interior is nice(even is a panda copy), driving and handling are good
i simply don’t understand your problems, what do you expect from car which cost 6000 usd? to get a mercedes??? you will get a quality according to price, how simple is that?
i work in ford and fiat before, when car arrive usually have problems with smell, mainly on oil, dust and other, before you even give a car to customer you must prepare it good, check it and then deliver it, also it’s good to remove all smells from the car, even with detail cleaning, no matter, car must be delivered to customer nice and shine

great wall work with toyota for a while, especiall with those older models like safe, deer and other, even some of spare parts had original toyota logo, also during presnetation of new models like coolbear and florid, even toyota was called to participate at that presentation, it will be little bit stupid to call those from which you made a copy right???
