Lifan SUV spotted out
Lifan have had plans to make their own SUV for over a year, plans for the future SUV were leaked onto the internet alongside a whole lot of other future cars in early 2008.
The new Lifan SUV has already been spotted out testing, and according to media reports it will carry the 1.6 Tritec engine that Lifan owns, and is supposed to be the same as what powers BMW’s MINI, although it is expected that a 1.8L offering will be shown prior to launch. The Lifan SUV measures (LxWxH) 4245x1735x1680mm, making it slightly smaller than the previous generation Toyota RAV4.
Lifan have aggressive plans to cover the entire car market with cars, ranging from super minis (aka the Lifan 320), compact sedans, mid size sedans, full size sedans, MPV’s and SUV’s. The entire range should be on the market by 2010.
Lifan are not the only automaker to take inspiration for their designs from Toyota, UFO spyshots also revealed their own attempt at cloning the RAV4.
