BYD are having another bumper month in China, bucking the economic trend of down down down. Sales were up 27.96% from 21,915 units in January to 23,819 in February.
The sales bonanza is being credited to the BYD F3 compact sedan which sold 14,242 F3 models (the hatchback model, F3R sold 1,985). In addition, BYD sold 3,517 F6′s, a mid size sedan, and a further 4,075 BYD F0 mini cars.
Vehicle sales in China again surpassed the US in terms of individual auto sales for the second month running.

Ok… even if I do sound like a broken record: Can we have the sales figures also for the BYD F3DM? Or for the very least: how many have been produced. Pretty please with sugar on top.
The big news would be that they can’t keep enough F3Es in stock. But we still don’t know whether this new technology model is selling or not. For a company that prides itself on electric energy innovation a lot depends on it.
Ash!
I know that you read these reader comments so you have seen these a few dozen times by now. Get your ass out of the closet and answer the friggin question! Did a single one of these BYD F3 DM roll out the factory gate to a paying customer during February, January or December?
This document was informative on many areas. But as usual the most important and interesting Chinese car was missing from the rolls. That confirmed me even further in my belief that BYD F3 DM does not exist in real life and is only a nifty little piece of vaporware with only a couple of the cars actually manufactured so far to be exclusively used at the exhibition circuit. Real life deliveries may or may not start some time in the future.
Vaporware by Wikipedia:
Olhat, thanks for continually reposting your vaporware wiki quote. Surely BYD F3DM sales would be under the F3 sales as a whole? Either way, Ill check next week.
If I were running a factory that supposedly produces the world’s first plug-in hybrid I would sure as hell tell the whole world that I’m actually getting some cars out on the roads of the real world. BYD seems to have made a different choice and this time I will not post the vaporware quote.
I’ll take your word on the numbers or some kind of educated guess on what’s happening coming next week. And the test drive was to happen very soon. According to my calculations the “very soon date” has passed already but I’m patient;)
Very soon to me, is within 3 months
If sales increase “from 21,915 units in January to 23,819 in February”, they increased about 9%, so I don’t understand how can you put “Sales were up 27.96%”?!?
