New Chery brands, Riich and Rely launched
Today, Chery launched their two new sub brands, Riich and Rely, both of which will make an entry into the premium market.
The Riich brand will be used for high end sedans, and the Rely brand will be used for mid and high end business cars, (In China, business cars usually refer to MPV’s etc). The first of the Riich cars has come off the production line, and is to be known as the G6. The Riich brand is aiming to become China’s first premier range of automobiles. Small work vehicles will carry the Karry brand.
Riich G6

The Riich G6 will come in two forms, a 2.0TDCI and a 3.0V6 model. Specifications of the rather nice looking G6 are still being reviewed by China Car Times, so we can expect to post a translated spec sheet later today.
Although the brand name Riich is a rather odd name to choose for a car, we have to say the Riich G6 is looking rather fantastic. What do our readers think?

As the current target for these new brands is the new developing China DOMESTIC market, the strange sounding ENGLISH names hold little bearing on the fact that the greater majority of the market will be marketed to in Chinese. And as most car markets are , while us enthusiasts are critical of anything and everything, this new auto market consists of many newly successful people who have no background in cars and may actually react favorably to the branding and even the copy-logos. Ultimately, these are domestic market brands that will live or die by their virtues here in the China market.
Hah.. Chery.. Chevy? to me the body of this car resembles a 09 malibu/impala
The Logo del Chery Riich is a copy of the logo of Mini Cooper
Chinese garbage of luxury..
Better I buy myself a Lexus instead of this garbage of the chery riich..
All the negatives remind me of the days when Japan was the skunk in business – eat your word all you negative thinkers – the yellow man will rule the world and I will buy their equal quality for half the price – up China!
FROM ITALY .
Buon Natale e felice anno nuovo 2011!
