New China Only Passat Spotted out
Although the official pictures have already been released by VW, it’s always nice to see photos of a real vehicle:
The new Passat Lingyu seems to have taken on a more elegent stance, something that might have been borrowed from its cousin the Audi A8. Engine offerings are expected to be a 1.8Turbo, a 2.0l, and a 2.7L. Gearboxes are also expected to be TIP5/TIP6. Pricing is expected to be from 180,000rmb and rising to put it up against the Camry and the Accord.

I would say that the move upscale also puts it against VW’s own Magotan.
Saw one yesterday, it looks very nice! I’d buy one over the current A6, if I was after such a car.
This Passat strikes me as being slightly more ‘business’ than the Magotan, which seems like its a good combination of both business and family use. I do like my neighbours AWD Magotan, that looks impressive!
