Chevy Cruze Touring Car

It’s a secret we cant keep any longer, it’s hard to say it, but we actually like the Chevy Cruze. No, its not an actual like, its more of a love for the car.

You see, the Cruze is amongst the first line of cars from GM that CCT actually likes. First it was the new Buick Regal, then its the Cruze. Before you know it, we’ll end up buying one of the two.

Chevrolet have prepared a WRC rally World Touring Car version of their Cruze for the Shanghai Auto Show, and we have to say it looks rather good.

Update: I should proof read articles before posting them at 1am.

Its just the WTTC Cruze and not really a WRC Rally Car..

Glad you came out of the closet, Ash. It’s no good to pretend! I just wonder what GM manuals are like these days. I used to drive quite a lot of old Vauxhalls and every time I drove any distance my arm used to ache from the gear change. It’s never happened in any other cars!

boogiecat: My mistake, I thought Id set the article to draft so I could proofread in the morning, I must have went for publish instead.

Mark: Im going to look at the Cruze now for the wife, 1.6, low sales tax, and reasonably good looks for a decent price. MG6 better be worth the wait, otherwise im going to invest in GM.

What’s the projected price of the Cruze in China?

Gerald, I was in a 1.6L version at the weekend that was on sale for 130k RMB.

Honestly not a bad car, a few sharp edges and the steering wheel is certainly Honda Civic style, but somehow not as well made.

Is the Cruze made on the Buick Excelle platform? It seems so, they handle in a similar way, and are the same size, and from the same parent company, so I’d expect that they are. The Cruze is pretty nice, finally a decent for the Chevy line up.

Hi Ash! I’ve been seeing and hearing a lot of commercials for the Cruze on TV and the radio – GM/Chevy is marketing this car surprisingly aggressively over here. What’s also surprising is how early we’re getting this – it’s not due to hit the US until next year, as a 2011 model.

130k isn’t bad for a car of this class. It looks like it will compete directly with the Focus, though I’m sure how well it will do here, especially with the next-gen Focus due soon. I agree that the styling is pretty good, however the Chevy badging leaves a cheap feeling in my mind.

The Cruze actually shares a platform with the next-gen Astra, so no relation to the Excelle.

Funny how Prison Break never made it to China via official channels, but it has become so popular via the net.

    ash

the cruze is the first of its kind
it uses a brand new platform from GM, so no, it doesn’t share the plataform with the excelle.

  9. avatar J. says:

It is a wonderful car, for 10万 only ! Will be a hit here.
Just saw one down my office, brand new… Quite a similar size as Toyota Reiz.

Ash, not a bad car but I would invest in GM. – Steven Ruza
