MGTF 85th Anniversary Edition

29 April 2009 One Comment

MG UK, the British arm of MG brand, have launched their 85th anniversary special edition of the once popular MGTF sports car:

Whilst the car does look absolutely fantastic, we can’t but help but agree with one British gad who said:

It’s like someone dressing up a pensioner as gangster rapper

The LE500, which was a limited run of 500 cars has not sold quite so well in the UK as initially hoped, a late launch in the year (practically being winter at the time of launch) obviously delayed sales, and the credit crisis in the UK did not help matters. The 85th Anniversary Edition is limited to a run of just 200 cars, but we think this one won’t have any problems selling, even in the current economic climate.

It’s high time that SAIC threw some cash into developing a new MGTF in time for summer 2010. We’ve heard rumors of such a beast in development now, but we haven’t seen any pictures yet.
