    why copy the Hummer H1….????

It’s an ugly vehicle. They could have designed something different and better looking…

it just feels kind of stupid to copy the H1, makes no sense.
I mean, it’s so easy to make something that looks better than the H1…

here is a good proof that a lot of chinese companies do nothing but just copy products…

    Hi Ash,

I’m Robbie from Belgium and I’ve been hanging around on your site for a couple of weeks. Bit of a carnut, and since the automotive future is in China, I’m really interested in Chinese cars. Especially the real Chinese cars, which we don’t have in Europe.

Anyway, this is my first post, and I just wanted to say this is a great site. Keep it up. There aren’t a lot of comments yet, but in a year or so this site will be overloaded with readers and every article will be celebrated with dozens of responses :)

    Jackson,

With a bit of luck, Ill be able to show you a military vehicle which will EAT the Hummer H1!

Hint: It uses a V8 Toyota engine and gearbox, it looks Russian, but its Chinese!

@Ash & Jackson: More importantly, looks aside, will the Chinese milspec SUV be “uparmored”, mine/IED resistant, and *most* importantly for Chinese thinking, be able to run with minimal to no preventive maintenance???

You would have to guess the government is funding them. It costs more to build your own car even if you do copy it than just go buy a hummer. Someone is spending some money because there is money to spend.

nella filosofia cinese copiare è normale, ma le persone che lavorano e poi si vedono rubare il frutto del proprio lavoro non sono felici
