Is this what the Detroit Electric car will look like?
A few weeks ago Detroit Electric announced that they are planning to build an electric sedan for the American market place, then at the Shanghai Auto Show Youngman-Proton had a Europestar branded Proton Persona on show complete with an electric drivetrain (left)
Specs for the Detroit Electric are listed here, we’re unsure if the Chinese version will match the ones for the US market, but we sure hope they do.

That Detroit Electric car is an electric Proton Gen 3 with Korean battery. What does this have to with Chinese auto industry, other than it would be on sale in China?
There is a connection between Jinhua Youngman and Detroit Electric in that they both have agreements with Proton to produce vehicles based on the Proton Europestar (Gen2 or 3). Apparently there is a 3-way tie-up between Jinhua, Zap electric of California and Proton. Arnold Swartzenegger is all excited about this one.
Is there possibly a tie-up between Detroit Electric and Zap?

I hope not, otherwise this would never get made.
Its a Proton Gen-2 ..
There is no Gen-3 yet … China Lover Dude ..
I hope it doesn’t take too long to get to Europe. Proton isn’t sold here anymore, except for the UK. But I would like an electric car.
