An Audi A6 TDI has been spotted out testing in China, sparking rumors of Aud’s entry into the diesel segment.

The questions remain, will the Chinese rich take to the idea of buying cheaper fuel, and is Chinese diesel all that clean?

    I’m not so sure about this – you can’t register diesel cars in first-tier cities such as Beijing. Unless they are bringing over clean diesel tech, but where can you buy clean diesel fuel here?

    My guess is the poor quality diesel fuel here would kill most advanced European diesel engines.

    Yes, China is not yet ready for clean diesel (though the need is very much there).
