Chinese made Lancer to get 1.8L + 2.0L engines

The Chinese made Lancer is set to launch in the PRC, equipepd with 1.8 and 2.0l engines, the base 1.6 will also be available. Sadly the EVO will not be made in China, but will remain on sale via the import method oddly via BAW dealerships rather than their JV partner, SouEast. The new Lancer will be mated to a 5 speed manual or a CVT based automatic.

Pricing is expected to be around 100,000rmb to 130,000rmb. Launch is expected to be around August this year.

The odd thing about this China made Lancer is that it seems smaller than the Japanese made Lancers that we see. Is this Soueast Mitsubishi Lancer a makeover of the Lancer that SouEast have had in production since last year? It certainly seems this way.

I have no idea why, I quite like this.

The wife can forget her Merc C200, she’s getting this in 2.0L form.
