BMW X1 testing in China – to be PRC made?

The BMW X1 mini SUV has been spotted near the BMW factory in North East China, sparking rumours of a Chinese built X1 heading into China.

The Chinese built X1 will be the first BMW SUV to be made in China, and is expected to be a major rival for other upcoming Chinese made luxury mini SUV’s, such as the soon to be launched Audi Q5, and VW mini SUV.

BMW are partnered with Brilliance, and are rumoured to have had conflicts in the past due to BMW’s unwillingness to offer the X5 and X3 as domestically made vehicles, the X1 could possibly be a Brilliance-BMW peace offering.
