BYD to begin consumer sales of BYD F3DM

China Car Times Green is reporting that the BYD F3DM will be available for private buyers very soon:
The BYD F3DM became the first Chinese mass produced hybrid vehicle when it was announced earlier this year, initially it was only available to government buyers. The Shenzhen government, did buy several vehicles, and the Hong Kong are also planning to put 80 of the vehicles into trials around the island. BYD are looking to sell the F3DM direct to consumers soon through its dealership network across China.
The BYD F3DM is capable of driving for 100km on its electric engine before it needs recharging, otherwise a 1.3l engine seamlessly kicks in and delivers power to the front wheels in an effortless manner.

Important practical issues with this model are: what’s the actual travel range when I drive at 120kph, and what’s the actual charge time when I connect it to a simple 220V outlet at my home (not a dedicated charge station).
