Chairman Hu to ride in Hong Qing HQE V12 on Oct 1st
The Chinese Chairman, Hu Jintao, will be riding in the FAW made Hong Qi HQE, a Chinese design and developed limo which also houses the first domestically designed and built V12 engine.
The HQE was designed specifically for use by high level governmental ministers, chiefly the Chairman of China, and also the Prime Ministers. October 1st 2009 will mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Peoples Republic of China, and Chairman Hu will be using the HQE to review the Peoples Liberation Army. The HQE is a 100% handmade vehicle, with a body stretching over 6 meters long.
The V12 engine is a 6.0l model with compression at 10.3, the cylinders measure 84x90mm. The V12 produces 300kw at 5600rpm and a max torque of 550nm at 4000rpm, which puts the max torque at a little lower than the Audi A8 W12 engine.

Don’t care what anyone else says, I love it. Big, dumb, retro, rich, sleek. Sort of what the Americans were before they lost sight of who they were.
This car’s got character!
I heard this car is a copy of RR. I don’t know because I think RR is ugly and I don’t pay attention to its.
Should be called the Hong Qi One. Then again, maybe the “E” is a phonetic translation of “One” in Chinese..
FUGLY! Looks like a drunken cross between a potoato chipper, a pissed goldfish and yes sadly a bloody RR!! I bet the v12 wont have enough grunt to push this barge along at more than legal limits and probably a 2minute 0-100k time as well. Why bother??
Don’t you mean “…produces 300 hp…” rather than “300 kw at 5600 rpm”? It’s more attractive than an electricity-generating station!
This limo is approriately ugly and morbid looking for Communist China’s 60th celebration of its bloody ascension.
This clunker looks like a funeral coach with Hu stickin out like transfixed Zombie.
