Chinese police to get Lancers?

29 June 2009 2 Comments

The Chinese made Mitsubishi Lancer is due to go into production soon, but a police version has already been sighted in the SouEast factory, as well as a regular civilian model:

China wont get a domestically made EVO but will get a 1.8l and 2.0l engines. The 1.8l produces 177Nm of torque, but power ratings for the 2.0L have not yet been released. The current Lancer made by SouEast is a 1.6l version producing 104bhp, the latest generation Mitsubishi Lancer is an imported model which costs over 200,000rmb. The Chinese made Lancer is expected to cost somewhere in the 150,000rmb range for the 2.0l model, and will be perfect competition to the Ford Focus, and the soon to be released MG6.

Boogies, Im with you on this. I wonder if it will have the same dimensions as the imported one, or if its a grafted front onto the current (terrible) Lancer that SouEast make?
