It has been explicitly stated that they will move to Hummer to alternate fuels, and most speculation is centered on making the Hummer some version of an EV - likely an HEV rather than a PHEV or BEV. It seems likely to me (a humble opinion) that a defined time line to do that, using Chinese battery manufacturers, will be the price to get governmental blessings

Anyone with any sense of who their natural battery partner might be? I think not BYD ... China BAK maybe? Who else in China has the capacity for power batteries right now?

Thanks.

as a former Hummer engineer, I anxiously wait for the end of this drama..!

I rather so much that Hummer gets purchased by a foreign company than simply let it die.
Really hope the best for Hummer!

by the way
the H3T is a GREAT truck!!

In China when a car is made locally, the sale price falls considerably as well.

The Toyota Highlander is a good example, it fell from somewhere in the 350,000rmb range into the 270,00rmb range over night.

"...government will move to block any potential purchase of a (NON HOME GROWN CHINESE) brand that is seen as being ‘ungreen‘ and ‘anti-environment".

"CCT is rather looking forward to the day we can buy a domestically made Hummer H3T for sensible money." Why would they make it affordable when it's seen as a "luxury" SUV??? When BMW and Merc started making vehicles in the southern U.S. they didn't lower their prices for that market...
