Riich G6 to be 200k and higher
Chery’s sub brand, Riich, is growing slowly with the addition of the Riich M1 and the soon to be added Riich G6 sedan.
Despite the odd brand name it has been stuck under the G6 is an excellent looking car, and with an interior that appears to be able to rival the Koreans, and the Japanese automotive offerings. The G6 is expected to launch later this year with a 2.0T and 3.0T engine offerings.
The 1.0 Riich M1 hatchback has already been launched, an automatic version will launch later this year in October. The Riich G5 is also expected to launch in October. The Rely X1 and X5 SUV‘s are going to launch either at the end of 2009, or early 2010.
The proposed 200,000rmb price range of the Riich G6 would make the G6 one of the most expensive cars that Chery has ever produced, do they have what it takes to compete with the other 200,000rmb price range cars, such as the old favourites like the Mazda6, the VW Passat, and the current Mondeo?

Got an ich?…..no sense scratching since it’s sure to riich anyway.
It wants to enter China’s most congested market section of the Automobile market known as the mid priced mid sized sedans. Think about it, its trying to compete in the section where pretty much every brand has a midsize sedan competing there. Its going to compete against some of the biggest selling champions like the Volkswagen Passat, Toyota Camry, Buick Regal that’s why I just don’t see it doing well. But that’s the automobile market for you. Throw in new models every year and see if its hot or not. Even what’s hot a decade ago won’t be hot in the present. But then yet again this car is not a niche.
But whether there will be any success in this model will depend what marketing stunts will be done to attract people to it. Korean cars only got popular in the US because they pulled out a marketing stunt like 10 years warranty vs their competitors usual 5 year warranty.
Another is how a different market really does buy different models. You can definetely see this in the famous german luxury brands section on how Audi is outselling BMW and Mercedez in China.

Molto probabilmente, se decideranno di produrla, dalla RIICH G6 deriverà la futura DR 7, auto in versione “italiana” Made in Isernia! Un prototipo si è già visto in giro intorno ad Isernia.
