Mitsubishi Colt Plus testing in China
Are SouEast reading a small car to take on the Chinese roads? It seems so from these pictures, which show a Mitsubishi Colt Plus testing on Chinese roads (left)
SouEast Mitsubishi have been left behind in recent years with their sales due to a poor under performing range, the Mitsubishi Lancer has perormed okay, but the Mitsubishi Galant has not sold so well against the strong competition. The recently introduced Mitsubishi Zinger does not appear to be selling too well either. Perhaps it is due to the age and the awkard designs of the Soueast Mitsubishi range, but one things for sure, if they introduce the above 2003 model Colt and not the latest 2009 Colt into the Chinese marketplace, then Soueast Mitsubishi are sure to be stuck with another car they cant move off the forecourt.

i had this car twice (2005(78000km & 2008 models) and still using the 2008 one (currently at 56000km)
absolutely one of best cars in its segment.
Mercedes-Smart engine(1,3lt DOHC 95 hp-125nm),
Getrag transmission(6 speed semi-auto version) best in semi auto rivals
incredible stability
incredible reliability
incredible practicality
good performance
diesel-like fuel consumption
drawbacks:
drivers side A column blocking an angle of vision
absolutely no idea where is the cars front end
plastics longterm quality is not that high (as usual as inall Mitsubishis)
when rear seats are at full backward the boot decreases too much (even then its bigger than Toyota Yaris’s boot…oh wait everything is bigger than Yaris’s boot lol)
