BYD’s mini Lexus to sell for 100,000rmb

byd g3 300x262 BYDs mini Lexus to sell for 100,000rmbBYD’s third sedan after the F3 and F6 is set to tell for around 100,000rmb according to early reports from China. The BYD G3 was leaked to the internet earlier this year, and was instantly praised and criticized in equal measure for looking a lot like a Lexus, specifically the Lexus ES350.

At the moment, only the BYD G3′s rear has been shown to the world, so there is no real indication if the front end will take on Lexus styling as well. The BYD F6 is a measure of Honda Accord and Mercedes S-Class styling, so it could be that the G3 is also an ‘automotive mashup‘ of designs.

The BYD G3 is expected to retail for around 100,000rmb once sales begin. Sales are expected to start towards the end of the year, or perhaps early in 2010. The G3 is expected to be a premium car, at a premium

    I can see where the comparisons to the ES300 are coming from, but to me it looks like more of a copy of the Sonata NF (which itself was a copy of the Accord).
