Ex-Chery man to head up Hummer sales division in Shanghai
Chery’s former president of international business, Mr. Huang Zhi Qiang has been poached from Chery by Sichuan Tengzhong who are expected to take over the Hummer brand very soon.
Tengzhong currently have a memorandum of understanding with GM to take control of Hummer, Tengzhong are expected to formally take over Hummer at the end of September.
Its expected that GM will sell Tengzhong for a mere 170 million dollars to get Hummer off their books ASAP, far from the 500 million dollars that GM were expected to ask for a few months ago.
Tengzhong plans to open a sales division headed by Mr. Huang which will oversee sales worldwide from a Shanghai operating base.

Has the government approved of the Tengzhong Hummer deal yet?
hahahahaha!!!! the american symbol of power will be owned by a chinese company!!!!!PRICELESS!!!!!!!!
Tengzheng has a chance to succeed with Hummer if they are smart. How to do that?
Tengzheng should make deal with Raser Technologies and accelerate proccess in releasing “green” hummer by using Raser E-REV power train. They already spent about two years in development specifically for Hummer. There is no better option to consider, and get results in a very short time.
I am still believe Tengzheng will do well it this new segment .. 2 thumb’s up for the purchase.
