Wow, that sounds great i mean at least the quality of the vehicle wouldn’t be compromised, but i wonder what TengZhong can gain from the purchase of Hummer though, it seems to me to be a complete waste of money. But if they are smart, they could easily revive it by introducing Hybrid Hummer which i think they are working on as we speak, i guess they just have to pump lot of money into in for this one.

Exactly! What’s in it for Tengzhong? I really can’t see the Chinese government giving a green light to a deal like this. Then again I can’t really understand the logic in any Chinese company being allowed to to take on Hummer!

You are spot on Mark. Beijing had vowed to promote “new energy” and the greening of China through auto development. So this move is contradictory, and illogical, but after lots of discussion in high places about disapproving the purchase, someone has likely greased the right palm.

why a chinese company would take hummer???simple…because is a military vehicle used by usa…imagine what they can learn about it….china will dominate the world soon!!!

    • avatar mark says:

Yeah right! I would hardly say the Hummvee is the cutting edge of the US army. It’s not as if it’s a MBT or a stealth fighter. Anyway, if this was their aim, why bother buying the company when they can just buy the car and reverse engineer it?

  4. avatar Ed says:

They bought it because they want the technology, isn’t that simple enough???!! Anyways GO CHINA!! China Rocks.

  5. avatar Vie says:

What technology? Seriously what tech has Hummer got that Chinese companies don’t already have access to?
