Stitching in seats coming out. Metal sticking out of seats. Glove box latch that doesn't line up to hold it closed. This was a 6 month old sedan from brilliance. My friends Geeley beauty leopard is totally falling apart. Itis 4 years old. The Great Wall Cool bear feels like it has no suspension and you can't even play a CD becase it skips every bump. Very few have a decent transmission. I know the Chery ones are really sloppy feeling and dont shift well. I have driven two Geeleys and both felt like I was driving an old truck the way the clutch and transmission shifted. Very difficult to drive. I have never driven cars that shifted so badly and felt so bad to drive. Even cars that were over 20 years old in the US didn't drive that bad. I am sure there have been huge improvements. I am just saying there is still a long ways to go. It really is going to be more than 10 years before a Chinese brand can make a dent in the US market. It would be foolish to think it will be any sooner. On the other hand a foreign brand made in China could make progress in the US just because they won't be fighting the image of a cheap car from China as much. What do you mean. I agree with you but every Chinese made car I have been in has had obvious quality issues. I think it is to be expected on many of the cars and mos of the cars at sub 100,000 price point. It will get some buyers of course, patriotism will shift cars no matter how bad they are (us Brits bought Alegros and Marinas after all, and the Yanks bought Hummers.) People generally will hear about bad publicity when something goes wrong.
