QQ3 to be given a massive facelift!
The QQ3 is ultimately the Chinese peoples car, France had its 2CV, the UK had the mini (and not the MINI), Germany had the Beetle and Italy had the Fiat 500. The launch of the QQ signified the rise of the Chinese automotive industry and what was to come; a wave of clones filled Western auto media’s headlines, from Audi logo rip off’s to entire car clones. The QQ3 spear headed Chery’s rise to becoming a nationwide automotive producer from the backwaters of Wuhu and even selling at an international level in various developing countries. In September alone, the QQ range (combined of QQ3 and QQ6) sold 16,738 vehicles, not bad for a car that was first introduced in 2003.
The QQ3 start at 30,800rmb for the most basic 800cc manual, steel wheeled affair, and rises to the giddy heights of 50,800rmb for the 1.1 luxury model with the sequential manual gearbox.
Although the above spy shot only shows a partial view of the new QQ3, it seems that with the current sales rate for the QQ, a newer face might just push sales even higher. The new QQ3 is due to be launched towards the end of the year.

wow, quite an improvement over the last generation.
This QQ3 looks great and is certainly a clear step in the right direction. China should be developing its own “Peoples Car” and not just leaving it to foreign manufacturers like VW and Co!
The important thing here is it mnust be a relatively light car because with an eye to the future it must be a “green” car also in a world with dwindling and increasingly more expensive oil rescouces!
Idealy it should be optionally also have Chinese Hi Tec developed electric or hybrid power as alternatives. What about it Chery? China can certainly do it with the bright new ideas from its young generation! Make it Ideas in Motion!
And even with a low cost car there is no reason for it being ugly! Make it peppy and spicey to meet the requirements of the new chinese generation and possibly even make it a international hit in Africa and Russia and ?
