Roewe AP6 should be a hit
I was on my way home from my office in Anting, Shanghai when I spotted four new mid-sized sedans lined up for a test drive. The cars were out for a test drive parked right outside a Volkswagen storage lot in Anting so naturally I thought they were going to be a new Volkswagen model but they turned out to be the new Rowe AP6 being test driven by SAIC engineers. The AP6 will be the first smaller model Rowe available on the market set to compete directly with the Buick Sail. They are based directly on the original Rover. According to the engineers they should enter into production some time during the first half of next year.
If I were GM I would be worried. I got a look at the interior of these vehicles (but it wasn’t appropriate to take pictures) and if potential Sail buyers do get a look at the AP6 they will probably never make it to the GM sales lot. With all likelihood SAIC will position the Rowe AP6 at a very competitive price, making the buying decision easy.
The Rowe AP6 should end up being a big hit!
